January 12, 2013

It is unfortunate that Sen. Jay Rockefeller, D-W.Va., does not really represent most of his constituents here in the Mountain State....

yes geo:the shift to gas for power is due to market forces. We now have a huge, new found, domestic supply vs previously. And it is cleaner. In addition the gas turbine plants are much cheaper to build new and maintain. They are jet engine-like.A "better mouse trap." The NR wants free markets. They have it for power now.

National Health Care is PROVING to be the disaster that its critics have maintained.

Written by lawyers and lobbyists FOR the big insurance companies, you will see the average health care premium soar about $2500.

OBAMACARE: FAIL!

Jay may see National Health Care(or close to it) before he leaves office. His dream. We in the US need it- and have for decades- as the rest of the civilized World has.Jay is a kind, sincere soul who has taken a stand for the have nots- the down trodden-of WV and the USA.He has been a good soldier for equality & fair treatment.

Most folks do not know John RockefellerI(Jay's great grand father) was a very, very devout Christian. The family has been deeply concerned with the public good since his fortune was made in oil.Jay has been as well.

How many years in the Senate? Somehow he convinced the idiots to keep voting for him. Now these same voters want to see him go. Oh Well- this is W.V. That explains it.

The NR suggests WV is prosperous. The reality is we are the poorest state in the US.Jrock did what he could for the majority of folks in WV:the poor, working poor and elderly.

Gooseman “WV did well with a Progressive instead of the alternatives.”

Did well? Seriously? Rockefeller spent fifty years as a loyal “progressive” pol and WV is still near fiftieth in almost every category. Not a coincidence.

WVUGEO “The Coal-to-Liquid Fuel Promotion Act of 2007.”

What’s “promotion”? If tax money has to be “promoted” to an industry to make it profitable, guess what? It’s NOT profitable - at least not profitable to anyone but the executives raking in quick cash and the pols receiving campaign contribution kickbacks from them. The Solyndra, A123, Evergreen Solar, Abound Solar... scams are recent examples. Three cheers for Republicans who saved American taxpayers multi-millions in coal-to-gasoline pie in the sky. I can understand why the Democrit pols and coal-to-gas promoters who stood to make millions in kickbacks and taxpayer-funded salaries on that scam are annoyed.

Three cheers for three posts to the Gooseman. Too bad you have to play Captain Obvious for the Captain Oblivious who wrote this snide, pretentious, goose-step drivel. Whoever West Virginians elect to truly represent them certainly won't be anything like this out-of-touch, supercilious clown - who even finds opportunity to squeeze in more of the "President Barack Obama ... war against coal" baloney sandwich. Keep in mind that Obama stood with Robert Byrd as one of the original cosponsors of Senate Bill 155 of the 110th Congress: The Coal-to-Liquid Fuel Promotion Act of 2007. Gopeeers got it squeezed away into committee. Did this rag ever make any reports about that? The war against Coal is one of silence.

"ultra-liberal politicians are leading us down a path to ruin."

January 2009-after 8 years of conservative leadership-THE USA was on the cliff of a second Great Depression.....

That kind of RUIN?

Seriously NR?

"In 1984, he was elected to the United States Senate, narrowly defeating businessman John Raese as Ronald Reagan narrowly carried the state in the presidential election."

Gee, wonder why folks didnt vote for Raese?

Same for 1976 in his successful campaign against Arch Moore for governor.

Those would be the NR alternatives to Sen Rock?

WV saved did well with a Progressive instead of the alternatives.
