No city from the Eastern Panhandle. We are becoming a GOP state with less taxes and government in our lives. Home Rule is the last chance to tax and fee the public to pay for state penison and cronies. Remember the Routers and who was in charge and it was not Cisco.

Home Rule does have good points but the citizens of each town or city citizens should vote on each Home Rule ordinance during a general or primary election with a sunset clause of 8 years for a renewal vote. The citizens are a lot smarter and know what they need and want in a city.

The downside is that some places might have downright incompetent representation similar to Congress that is out of touch with the citizens in putting in taxes and fees of HOME RULE.

Such acts will end being declared unconstitutional by the courts costing the city more than all the saving of Home Rule.

Home rule will can end up having your city run by people who never grew up in the city and want the rules of Chicago and Pittsburgh in your city. This could open the doors for more easily accessible corruption at the local level. Make no mistake Home rule is all about taxes and fees. Maybe not now but in the end they will come and they will take away.

Ever wonder why they do not allow as a requirement fo Home Rule the citizens need to approve ALL changes by a referendum by the city’s voters and each with a sunset time law.

But, do the people you represent like Home Rule. The state taxes you on your land and house more and more. Then now the city will fee you out of you house for not being able to maintain the house because you had to leave to find a job out of state. The city has a gold mine by taking the house because you fail to pay the high fees.
