The Intelligencer / Wheeling News-Register

RIPLEY - Taylor Gunnoe passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Van rallied to down Paden City, 23-14, in prep football action Monday evening at Ripley High School.

The game originally began Friday, Aug. 26, but had to be postponed in the third quarter when field lights at Van's football facility went out.

The contest resumed Monday with the Wildcats holding a 14-8 lead. But Labor Day was all Van (1-1).

The Bulldogs tied the game when Gunnoe hit Cody Price for a 70-yard touchdown in the third quarter. Gunnoe rushed for the 2-point conversion that gave Van a 16-14 lead.

Van capped the scoring in the fourth quarter on a 55-yard scamper by Gunnoe.

Taylor Still paced the Paden City (0-1) offense, scoring on two 1-yard scoring runs en route to 128 yards on 28 carries.
