ST. CLAIRSVILLE - If you are looking to plant flowers, carve a pumpkin or install some shrubs, the Ponzani Lendon Florist and Garden Center can meet all your needs.
The facility - located in the same spot along National Road, east of St. Clairsville, for the past 50 years - is under the new ownership of Bethesda residents George and Jennifer Lendon. Matt Swigert of Newcomerstown, Ohio, is a co-owner.
However, the great service and products remain the same, the new owners said.

After about 50 years in business as Ponzani’s Florist in St. Clairsville, the business is now owned by Bethesda residents George and Jennifer Lendon. The center carries everything one may need for the fall planting season.
The experienced staff recently held a grand opening to showcase the many products and services offered at Ponzani's, including mums, fall decorations and pumpkins.
"We are glad to be here, and look forward to serving our customers," George Lendon said. "We hope to continue the great tradition already established here."
Jennifer Lendon said in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Ponzani's will give 10 percent of the revenue from the sale of pink tulips to cancer research.
"For right now, because this is a slow time of the year for garden centers ... we still have a lot of favorites that customers have asked for, but we're also trying to add in some new things. ... Of course we always have the mums" and other items, Jennifer Lendon said.
"There are items for sympathy, there's things for a baby ... there's just general gifts for graduates or retirement and a lot of silk and fresh arrangements."
Lendon said the garden center also offers a nice variety of flowers, shrubs, trees and planters.
"It's just something God provided an opportunity for us to be able to do this," said Lendon, while talking about their new business venture.
The garden center is located at 46540 National Road, St. Clairsville. For more information or hours of operation, call 740-695-2204.
