HOWARD, Jack, 88, formerly of McMechen, WV, died Monday, November 26, 2012 in Belmont Manor Nursing Home, St. Clairsville, OH.
He was born May 19, 1924 in Benwood, WV, the son of the late Garrett H. and Edith Howard.
Jack was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the 173rd Medical Battalion. He was a retired employee of Allied Chemical, Solvay Plant, and a member of the American Legion.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Lulu M. Howard and two infant sons.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda (Gary) Campbell of Rochester, NY, Cherie Bennett and her companion, Carl Hartlieb, Jr. of Wheeling, WV, and Tamie (Thomas) Wedge of Roseburg, OR; six grandchildren, Thomas Bennett and Robert (Rebecca) Bennett of Wheeling, Lindsay Campbell Stewart and Todd Campbell of Rochester, Heidi Clegg of Rickreall, OR, and SFC Colby A. (Donna) Clegg of Fort Stewart, GA; eight great-grandchildren, Dylan, Brooke and Isabella of Wheeling, Courtney, Gage, and Brooklyn of OR, and Savanna and Andrew of GA.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens, Sherrard, where interment and Military Honors will follow.
