HARRIS, Dale Ford, 86, died Wednesday, December 26, 2012, at the Shadyside Care Center, his son Greg and daughter-in-law Janet at his side.
Dale was born March 5, 1926, at Piedmont, Ohio, a son of the late Forest Dale Harris and Olive Marie Ford Harris.
Dale served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the Pacific Campaign.
He retired from Shoemaker Mine following over 30 years of employment with Consol.
After retirement Dale spent over 16 years as a dedicated volunteer driving the senior van for Belmont County Commission on Aging.
The very professional and caring staff of Shadyside Care Center made the final year and a half of his life more enriched. The friendship staff provided was greatly appreciated.
Dale is missed by his son Greg; daughter-in-law Janet; cousins Starla and Treva; niece Bonnie, nephew Putsy; and his close buddy Tony.
He now rests in heaven with his granddogs Spikie and Curly Joe, whom he loved dearly.
