William Truex

TRUEX, William J., 77, of Moundsville, W.Va., died Wednesday, April 17, 2013 at Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

He was born October 5, 1935, in McKeefrey, W.Va., a son to the late Clarence and Radie (Fulmer) Truex.

He was a 1954 graduate of Moundsville High School and a veteran who served in the U.S. Army during the Cuban Missile Crisis.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Asa Truex, infant brother, Clifford Charles Truex; and three sisters, Lena Mae Moore, Thelma Virginia Hale, and Helen Marie Bell.

He is survived by one son, Kevin W. (Jennifer) Truex of McMechen, W.Va.; one daughter, Carla S. (Bob) Tucker of Benwood, W.Va.; six grandchildren, Derek Tucker, Todd Tucker, Cory Tucker, Vandy Tucker, Alexis Truex, and Christopher Truex; one great- granddaughter, Keely Mae Tucker; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received on Friday, April 19, 2013 from 2-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes and Kirby-Vance Chapels, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where funeral services will be held Saturday, April 20, 2013 at 2 p.m.

Interment will be held Monday, April 22, 2013 at the West Virginia National Cemetery in Grafton, W.Va.
