Rules for Marshall County Fair Queen Pageants

The queen must sign a contract with the Marshall County Fair Board for the time of her reign, 7/22/2013 through 7/21/2014. The Queen must enter the WV Fairs & Festivals Pageant in January 2014 in Charleston as a representative of the Marshall County Fair. Miss Marshall County Fair must be available to compete at the state level against approximately 80 reigning queens from festivals throughout West Virginia. This will be held in January 2014. Dates TBA. If you are currently another title holder be certain that you can meet these obligations.

Clothing needed for the pageant: For the INTERVIEW: Select an outfit in a flattering color showing your personal style, but appropriate for a business interview. This may include skirt suits, dresses, or a skirt and blouse. No slacks or capris. Select shoes that are complimentary to your outfit. Pantyhose may be worn for the interview. For the STREET WEAR COMPETITION: Street dress (no pants or capris) showing your personal style. This could be a suit, dress, skirt and blouse with complimentary shoes (may be the same outfit worn for the interview). This is NOT to be a cocktail dress or evening wear. A floor length evening gown will be worn for the Evening Gown Competition. Denim shorts (of acceptable length), boots and the provided tee-shirt for the Event Promotion.

Contestants must attend the mandatory practice sessions. Failure to attend will result in the contestant becoming ineligible to compete and forfeiture of entry fee.

All information about clothing is the same as for the Queens' contestants, with the exception of the evening gown, which must be a short gown (no long or strapless gowns are permitted).

The Queens and Princesses of all age groups are expected to actively participate in all fair activities throughout the Fair Week-a schedule of activities will be provided to the winners at a meeting on Tuesday, July 23rd (Time TBA).
