BLAKE, Hilda M., 93, of Moundsville, W.Va., died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on November 6, 1919, in Marshall County, W.Va., a daughter of the late William Earl and Belva Ray Wellman.
Mrs. Blake was a homemaker and member of Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Roberts Ridge, Moundsville. She loved her family dearly and had a special love for all children. She will be greatly missed by all the members of her family.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan B. Blake; a son, Garen Blake; 2 grandchildren, Greg Blake and Kathy Mason; a brother, Bucky Wellman; 3 sisters, Ruth Allen, Edna Burton, and Elsie Thomas.
She is survived two sons; Robert (Athena) Blake of Weirton, W.Va. and Dickie (Annita) Blake of Cameron, W.Va.; four daughters, Barbara (Ronald) Mason of Moundsville; Judy (John) McIntyre of Akron, OH; Becky Geraud of Moundsville, and Daunetta (Jeff) Fromhart of Moundsville; a daughter-in-law, Wanda Blake of Moundsville; a sister-in-law, Eilene Wellman of Moundsville; three brothers, Warren (Mildred) Wellman of Moundsville; Sam (Helen) Wellman of Florida; and Dean (Marval) Wellman of Michigan; three sisters, Gladys Emery and Ted of Michigan, Eileen Siburt of Moundsville, and Faye West of Moundsville; twenty grandchildren, forty-four great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received on Monday, August 5, 2013, from 4-8 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, Lutes & Kirby-Vance Chapel, 118 Grant Avenue, Moundsville, where services will be held Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Rodney Hubbs officiating. Interment will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Moundsville.
