JM Celebrates Past OVAC and State Champions

The John Marshall wrestling program celebrated its 50th anniversary on Friday night at the John Marshall Fieldhouse. The Monarchs recognized past OVAC and state champions along with past and current coaches.

Honored were past and current coaches Bill Hinegardner, Larry Chambers, Roger Simmons, Bob Wilson, Ryan Asbury, Nate Skrzypek and Paden Morris.

Past athletes that were at the Fieldhouse for recognition were Gene Hill, Rick Burke, Rick Kittle, Rusty Mercer, Ed West, Jeff Morris, Greg Morris, GJ Walley, Rich Schoene, Rusty Conner, Ted Zervos, Mike Knox, Paul Simmons, Alex Shook, Baron Bryan, Chris Ward, Derek George, Chris Taylor, Dustin Richey, Taylor Potts, Brandon Richey, Anthony Carman and Ron Griffin.

“Just bringing those guys back (Friday), it really creates an electric atmosphere (Friday), current John Marshall coach Ted Zervos said. “I’m pumped. The kids are pumped. It’s always a pleasure to run into those guys and I wish we could do it more frequently.”
