Grove shines in his pro debut

Wheeling Park grad and former West Virginina University pitcher Michael Grove shined in his professional debut on Monday for Los Angeles Dodgers’ affiliate, the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

Grove tossed three innings of one-hit ball, while striking out four and walking one against Visalia.

He left the game with a 1-0 lead after facing 13 batters.

The righty faced 13 batters, fired 34 strikes out of 57 pitches.
