FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Fisher, Fort Frye Rout Magnolia

NEW MARTINSVILLE — Tyler Fisher rumbled for 185 yards and four rushing touchdowns as Fort Frye dominated Magnolia 69-8 on Friday night.

Zane Wallace tallied 62 yards and a score in a win that Fort Frye ran for eight touchdowns and only threw the ball twice.

Brian Adkins ran for a score and caught one in the triumph.

Barnesville 31, Union Local 13

MORRISTOWN — Caden Lake ran for 116 yards and two touchdowns as Barnesville won the Milk Bucket and defeated rival Union Local.

Alex Meade also delivered for the Shamrocks as he ran for 78 yards and a score.

The Jets were led by Carter Blake’s 225 yards passing and two touchdowns, one of which went to Caleb McWhorter for 93 yards. McWhorter finished with 137 yards receiving.

Meadowbrook 36, Cambridge 7

MEADOWBROOK — Timmy Ferguson garnered 169 yards on the ground with two touchdowns as Meadowbrook brought down Cambridge.

Davis Singlton tallied 89 yards passing in the win.

Harrison Central 39

Buckeye Local 6

YORKVILLE — Cale McAfee picked up 158 yards on the ground with three touchdowns and also caught one for a score as Harrison Central defeated rival Buckeye Local.

Huskies’ quarterback Kobe Hill threw for 150 yards and two touchdowns in the win.

River 48, Frontier 12

NEW MATAMORAS — Carter Dennis ran wild for 220 yards and three touchdowns as River thumped Frontier.

Michael Johnson was also solid on the ground as he amassed 116 yards and two scores with Stone Thompson throwing for 100 yards.

J.D. Schmidt was good for 211 yards and a touchdown to lead Frontier and Brock Hoff collected four receptions for 93 yards and two scores.

Indian Creek 43, Edison 6

RICHMOND — Trevor Fante ran for 169 yards and two touchdowns as Indian Creek upended Edison.

Sam Baksa took an interception for a touchdowna and Brandon Hiles recovered a fumble in the end zone for a score for the Redskins.

Eli Powell tallied 57 yards and a score on the ground in the win.

John Marshall 34,Warren 17

WARREN — John Marshall rebounded from last week’s tough loss to Morgantown to hold off high-scoring Warren and improve to 4-5.

The win may clinch a playoff game for the Monarchs ahead of next week’s showdown with rival Wheeling Park.
