Davis Records 1,000th Point To Lead Bellaire

HANNIBAL — With 1:24 remaining in the third quarter, Katrina Davis sunk a free throw to secure her 1,000th point and helped Bellaire earn a victory over River, 56-42 in prep girlsí basketball action Monday night.

Davis also secured a double-double as she scored 37 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. She also had six steals and three assists for the Big Reds.

Allie Long led the way for the Pilots with 16 points.

Harrison Central 55 Edison 46

RICHMOND — McKayla Dunkle lit up the scoreboard for Harrison Central as she supplied 28 points in a victory against Edison.

For the Wildcats, Alysea Fiedorczyk had a team-high 20 points while Ashley Grafton had 11.

Steubenville 53

Buckeye Local 30

STEUBENVILLE — Steubenville forced 31 turnovers to secure a victory over Buckeye Local. Sophomore Elexis Martin finished with 12 points and 10 rebounds to lead Big Red while Anna Taylor had 10 points.

For the Panthers, Megan Valuska had 10 points.

Union Local 59

Ridgewood 31

RIDGEWOOD — Torre Kildow netted 18 points to help Union Local secure a victory over Ridgewood.

Casey Kildow and Hannah Merritt both secured 12 points for the Jets.

Toronto 57

Wellsville 22

WELLSVILLE — Kennedy Cottrell paced Toronto with 14 points in a victory over Wellsville. Abby Liddick contributed 12 points for the Red Knights while Riley Kinsey had 10.

Catholic 50

BEALLSVILLE — Three Beallsville players scored in double figures as it defeated Steubenville Catholic. Seniors Ashlie Louden and Ashley Howell each had 17 points for the Blue Devils while Harley Nalley had 10.

For the Crusaders, Katie Zatta had a game-high 22 points hitting six 3-pointers. Isabella Oliver was also solid securing a double-double with 15 points and 18 rebounds.

OUE Sweeps

OU Chillicothe

CHILLICOTHE — The Ohio University Eastern women’s and men’s basketball teams went on the road Sunday afternoon and came away with two hard fought victories over OU Chillicothe.

On the women’s side, Freshman Alaire Destifanes exploded for 25 points before intermission. Destifanes finished with a career high 38 markers and six assists.

Becky Zeroski totaled 14 points and four assists while Kaylin Nixon chipped in with 11 points and six rebounds.

Jay Farrow led the men’s team to a narrow 98-95 victory with a career-high 41 points and also had 12 rebounds.

Austin Coleman also played well and finished with 21 points and 8 rebounds.

Connor Leppla added 17 and six boards and freshman Zach Jones chipped in with 10 points and five rebounds.
