PREP ROUNDUP: Hundred Boys Secure Sixth Straight Victory
MEADOW BRIDGE — Logan Norris supplied a double-double as Hundred took down Meadow Bridge, 49-37 Friday night in prep boys basketball action.
Norris supplied 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Hornets (9-3).
Cody Soles was also solid as he had a team-high 22 points along with six steals.
PINE GROVE — Gavin Streets supplied 21 points to pace Valley to a victory over Cameron. Levi Anderson was also solid for the Lumberjacks (4-11) with 16 points while Ryan Baker contributed with 13.
Abe Satterfield tallied 12 rebounds for Valley.
For the Dragons (7-7), Jessop Broughton had a team-high 13 points.
Wheeling Park 45
MORGANTOWN — Morgantwon raced out to a 21-12 lead after the first quarter to secure a victory over Wheeling Park.
Travis Zimmerman secured a double-double for the Patriots (10-3) with 13 points and 12 rebounds. Alex Vargo had a team-high 24 points.
For the Mohigans (11-2), Mac McMillen and Troy Battle had 12 and 11 points, respectively.
SHADYSIDE — Kelly Hendershot couldn’t miss as he poured in 28 points to lead Shadyside past River.
Bryce Amos was on his game, too, netting 12 points for the Tigers.
Steubenville Catholic 37
BELLAIRE — Luca Connor’s 16 points and Charles Miller’s 10 points was just enough to help Steubenville Catholic edge Bellaire.
A.J. McCarthy and Owen Ward each garnered 10 points for the Big Reds.
BARNESVILLE — Four Caldwell players scored in double figures to secure a victory against slumping Barnesville.
Luke Powell turned in a game-high 29-point performance for the Shamrocks while Ayden Hannahs had 12.
Monroe Central 75, Frontier 61
WOODSFIELD — Auston Hogue scored 23 points and Luke Burkhart added 13 as Monroe Central avenged an earlier loss to Frontier.
Garet Cramer added 12 points for the Seminoles (9-6), while Talin Babcock had 10.
Logan Brookover led all scorers, pouring in 31 for the Cougars.
Bridgport 62, Beallsville 54
WOLFHURST — Riese O’Kernik went for 15 points Friday night leading Bridgeport to its first basketball triumph of the season as the Bulldogs defeated Beallsville.
Cooper Dulesky and Mason Kelly each added 11 points for the Bulldogs (1-14).
Dakota Phillips, who surpassed the 1,000-point mark earlier this week, paced the Blue Devils (5-12) with 18 points. Wyatt Brown added 15 points.
Hundred 42, Mapletown 28
GREENSBORO — Mahalah Britton cashed in on a double-double (18 points, 10 rebounds) to help Hundred defeat Mapletown.
Sydney Duckworth also scored in double figures for the Hornets with 13 points including hitting three 3-pointers.
Charleston Catholic 54, Wheeling Central 47
CHARLESTON — Hannah White tallied 11 points, but Wheeling Central could not overcome Charleston Catholic.
Tristen White contributed with 10 points for the Maroon Knights.
