BRIDGEPORT, W.Va. — West Liberty University sophomore guard Will Yoakum was honored on Monday as the Mountain East Conference’s Men’s Basketball Player of the Week after leading the surging Hilltoppers to a pair of runaway wins in conference play.

A 6-foot-5 sky-walker from Delaware (Ohio) Hayes High School, Yoakum posted his second double-double of the season on Wednesday when he scored 13 points and grabbed 10 rebounds to help lift the Hilltoppers to an impressive 104-79 road victory at Concord.

The 2019 MEC Freshman of the Year followed that up with a career night on Saturday. Yoakum came out smoking with 28 points in the first half alone as the high-scoring Hilltoppers raced out to a whopping 83-51 halftime lead against Glenville State.
