Wheeling Park Has No Trouble With Hedgesville

HEDGESVILLE — Wheeling Park made the most of a lengthy road trip to the Eastern Panhandle Friday night, scoring a convincing 49-0 victory over homestanding Hedgesville.

The Patriots did all of their scoring in the first half.

They struck first just 90 seconds into the game when Beau Heller plunged in from a yard out. Just under two minutes later, Carson Namack found the end zone off a 21-yard pass from Heller.

Still in the first quarter, the Patriots made it 21-0 when Heller connected on a 14-yard touchdown pass. The lead swelled to 28-0 when Stevie Mitchell scored from a yard out with 2:36 to go in the first.

Just 2:10 later, Shaheed Jackson stepped in front of a Hedgesville pass and raced it back 42 yards for a pick six.

Mitchell scored from four yards and Torrence Walker capped the scoring on a 5-yard run.

Andrew Glass was a perfect 7-of-7 on PAT kicks.

Tyler Consolidated 34

South Harrison 6

SISTERSVILLE — Trenton Huffman ran for 108 yards and a touchdown, while Hunter Throckmorton added 88 yards and two rushing touchdowns as Tyler Consolidated unveiled its new turf in a win over South Harrison.

River 28, Monroe Central 6

WOODSFIELD — Carter Dennis carried 17 times for 206 yards and scored two touchdowns as River (2-1) defeated Monroe Central.

The senior had TD runs of 8 and 2 yards in the first half and Brody Lollathin found Jake Rose from 13 yards out as the visitors led 21-0 at the half.

The Seminoles (2-1) reached the scoreboard when Alex Kilburn capped an 88-yard drive with a 7-yard run. The two-point run failed.

Avery Creamer concluded the scoring with a 1-yard run in the third quarter.

Zac Hocutt booted four PATs.

Creamer finished with 47 yards on seven carries while Lollathin completed 4 of 7 passes for 44 yards. Kabel Isaly went 5-for-6 for 81 yards.

Barnesville 38, Edison 10

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks bounced back from a setback last week to Beaver Local impressively, posting a victory over previously undefeated Edison.

The Shamrocks (2-1) received three touchdowns from senior Gage Hannahs.

C.J. Hannahs rushed for a score and threw one to Jake Boulet. Gavin Carpenter also drilled a 30-yard field goal.

The Wildcats’ lone scores came on a Jayden Sanders 25-yard field goal and a Vinnie Marcino pick-six.

St. Clairsville 34, East Liverpool 20

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — In his first game of the season, quarterback Drew Sefsick threw for 159 yards and a touchdown and also ran for one as St. Clairsville defeated East Liverpool.

Jacob Jordan ran for 184 yards and Colin Oberdick hauled in four passes for 137 yards and a score for the Red Devils.

Martins Ferry 30, Union Local 18

MARTINS FERRY — Chase Goff ran for 158 yards, Evan Carpenter and Trevor Hanson each scored two touchdowns and Martins Ferry downed Union Local.

QB Carter Blake threw for 183 yards, a touchdown and three interceptions for the Jets, while Jaksan Price was held to 67 yards and a score and Caleb McWhorter tallied 87 yards and a touchdown reception.

Oak Glen 35, Keyser 12

NEW CUMBERLAND — Hunter Patterson scored three touchdowns and ran for 97 yards, Paxton Shuman scored twice and ran for 85 yards and QB Nick Chaney supplied 274 yards and a touchdown pass as Oek Glen upended Keyser.

Frankfort 37, Weir 26

RIDGELEY — Anthony DiMatteis ran and threw for a touchdown but Weir fell on the road to Frankfort.

Wheeling Park 311, North Marion 364, Brooke NS

WEIRTON — James Salvatori, Noah Seivertson and Ryan Bilby all tied for medalist honors with scores of 72 at the Williams Country Club.
