WU Men’s Basketball Pauses Activities

WHEELING — Wheeling University Men’s Basketball game at Notre Dame College Sunday was postponed due to COVID-19 protocols and in accordance with the MEC and NCAA guidelines, Director of Athletics Patrick Snively announced Saturday.

The men’s basketball program will pause all team activities until further notice. Wheeling University will work with the Mountain East Conference and Notre Dame College to reschedule the game later this season.

The Cardinals are next scheduled to play on Wednesday when they are slated to travel to Maryland to take on Frostburg State.

Wheeling played its season opener against Alderson Broaddus where it fell 85-79.

Four Cardinals scored in double figures as Jordan Reid led the way with 21 points while Jordan Beale netted 17. John Korte tallied 14 points and Jay Gentry contributed 13.
