St. Clairsville Wins Buckeye 8 South

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — St. Clairsville captured another Buckeye 8 South Division title by defeating rival Bellaire, 84-60 on John Jenkins Court.

The win sends St. Clairsville to Saturday night’s Buckeye 8 championship game where it will take on East Liverpool for the third straight season at 7 p.m. at Union Local High School.

Drew Sefsick led all scorers with 24 points and Ryan McCort finished with 21. Bellaire (9-11) was led by junior Owen Ward, who scored 18. Sophomore Jake Dowling finished with 14 and junior Jaren Cash added 11.

STEUBENVILLE — Brenton Jones turned in 10 points as Steubenville upended River.

The Pilots were led by Brody Lollathin’s 15 points.

TORONTO — Brant Reeves and Shane Keenan scored 17 and 11 points, respectively, as Toronto downed Conotton Valley.

CAMBRIDGE — Kalista Friday charted 16 points to lead the Seminoles past host Cambridge.

Haylyn Hiles added 10 points in the win.

STEUBENVILLE — Big Red senior Aaron Ferguson, the No. 4 wrestler in Ohio Division II 160 pounds, kept his record perfect with two wins as Steubenville downed Buckeye Local and Fairless.
