Malone started the season 0-4, but won 17 of their next 19 games.

In the G-MAC tournament, the Pioneers defeated Walsh University in the quarterfinals and Hillsdale College in a semifinal matchup.

Hillsdale (20-2) earned the top seed in the Atlantic Region while Charleston (14-3) is locked in at the No. 2 seed. Both teams have earned byes.

In the other quarterfinal matchup, No. 4 seed Mercyhurst, who finished the regular season with an 11-0 record, will take on Mountain East Conference champion Fairmont State (15-4), which is the fifth seed.

The Falcons defeated both the Golden Eagles (semifinal) and Hilltoppers (championship) in the MEC Tournament to earn their automatic bid.

The quarterfinal games are slated for Saturday while the semifinal games are Sunday. The Atlantic Region championship game is scheduled for Tuesday with a spot in the Elite Eight on the line.

Charleston awaits the winner of the West Liberty-Malone game while Hillsdale will take on the Fairmont State-Mercyhurst winner.
