JM Girls Take Down Weir

WEIRTON — Three John Marshall players scored in double figures as it defeated Weir, 65-57 Friday night in girls’ basketball action.

Catherine Hunnell led the way for the Monarchs with a game-high 21 points while Landyn Helms supplied 11.

Lakyn Groves was also solid with 10 points.

For the Red Riders, Taylor Nutter had a monster double-double performance with 18 points and 17 rebounds. Leah Maley followed that with 18 points and 12 boards. Isabella Aperfine produced 11 points.


Shadyside 9

Bridgeport 2

SHADYSIDE — Rhys Francis, Carson Makris and Tyler Stottlemyer combined on a three-hitter in helping Shadyside improve to 4-0 on the season in a victory over Bridgeport.

Mason Vannest supplied a triple, single and a RBI for the Tigers while Ryan Florence had two singles and one RBI.

Cooper Dulesky slammed a double for the Bulldogs.

Toronto 18

Harrison Central 8

TORONTO — Toronto scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to secure a victory over Harrison Central. Avery Wiegand tallied three singles and one RBI for the Red Knights while Chris Parke rhad a triple and drove in two runs.

Bran Reeves and Caleb Leasure each had two singles with two and three RBI, respectively.

For the Huskies, Sam Santille had two hits and three RBI.

East Liverpool 12

Edison 5

RICHMOND — Matt Parsons tallied two doubles and two RBI, but Edison fell to East Liverpool.

Carrollton 8

Indian Creek 3

CARROLLTON — Corey Cottis drove in a run on two hits but Indian Creek fell to host Carrollton.
