PREP ROUNDUP: Linsly Boys Pull Away From Weir

WEIRTON — Max Washington bucketed 17 points and Caleb Murray tallied 14 as Linsly pulled away from Weir in the fourth quarter for a 65-52 win on Thursday.

Anthony Cross recorded 15 points to pace Weir and Tyler Kelly added 14.

Madonna 66, Magnolia 56

NEW MARTINSVILLE — Lucky Pulice led the way for Madonna with 19 points in a victory against Magnolia. Evan Bone was also solid for the Blue Dons with 17 points.

For the Blue Eagles, Kaden Johnson had a team-high 14 points while Trevor Williamson had 11.

Cameron 65, Paden City 38

PADEN CITY — Trevor Beresford collected 16 points to lead Cameron past Paden City.

Colson Wicterman netted 10 and Logan Burkett added nine for the Dragons.

Joel Moore paced the Wildcats with 28 points.

Union 68, Hundred 51

MOUNT STORM — Bobby Hostutler recorded a double-double of 23 points and 12 rebounds but Hundred fell to host Union.

Dylan Ray added 10 points.


John Marshall 52, Oak Glen 50

NEW CUMBERLAND — Lakyn Groves tallied 15 points while Catherine Hunnell chipped in 14 as John Marshall edged Oak Glen.

Alexus Greenlief led the way for the Golden Bears with 10 points.

WELLSBURG — The Brooke boys dominated in the pool against John Marshall led by John Francis, who won the 200 IM (2:19.79) and the butterfly (1:01.76).

Ethan Robey was also lightning in the water for the Bruins — winning both the breaststroke (1:07.07) and the 50 (25.81).

In girls action, it was defending state champion Victoria Kidney leading the way for the victorious Monarchs with wins in the 200 IM (2:20.50) and the backstroke (1:02.11). Laura Siler also won a pair of events in the 100 (58.94) and the 50 (26.32).

Ella McCullough had a solid outing for Brooke with wins in the 200 (2:13.77) and the 500 (6:06.62).
