PREP ROUNDUP: Wheeling Park Boys Edge Preston, 59-58

KINGWOOD — D.J. Saunders hit the game-winning shot and supplied the game-winning steal as the Wheeling Park boys basketball team defeated Preston, 59-58 on the road on Saturday.

The Patriots had three players in double figures as Avery Lee led the way with 21 points while Brett Phillips chipped in 15.

Beau Heller was also solid as he had 11 points. Saunders dished out eight assists.

Brooke 71, John Marshall 56

WELLSBURG — Alex Isinghood continued his impressive season as he turned in a 25-point performance to lead Brooke past John Marshall.

Andrew Coursin supplied 18 points for the Bruins while Ryan Knox had 17.

For the Monarchs, Derrick Derrow scored a game-high 31 points and Brennan Sobutka had 11.


Linsly 58

Parkersburg South 44

PARKERSBURG — Playing for the first time in 10 days, Linsly secured a victory against Parkersburg South.

Nevaeh Cook supplied 15 points to lead the way for the Cadets while Brinley Steen issued 14.

Molly Heron rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points.

Cameron 57, Brooke 39

WELLSBURG — Lili Neely secured a career-high 30 points including hitting five 3-pointers as Cameron improved to 14-1 in defeating Brooke.

Ashylnn VanTassell tallied 10 points for the Dragons.

For the Bruins, Madison Platt had a team-high 20 points while Ava Bolen netted 13.
