Asbury, Zervos Named Mr. and Ms. Monarch

Colton Asbury and Zara Zervos have been chosen as Mr. and Ms. Monarch for the 2020-21 academic year. Asbury participated in cross country, track and swimming, while earning 11 letters in his time at JM. He is undecided about his career path. Zervos ran cross country and track and was on the soccer and swim teams. She collected 16 letters as a Monarch. She graduated in the top 1% of the JMHS Class of 2021 and is the recipient of the National Merit Scholarship, along with being the U.S. Presidential Scholarship winner for her accomplishments in academics and the career and technical education field. Zervos will attend West Virginia University to major in Aerospace Engineering and will be a member in the cross country and track teams. This annual award is based on a point system. Student athletes get credit for participating on a team, while in high school. They also got bonus points for earning a letter in a sport, being named to an all-state team, all-conference team, as well as for their academic achievements.
