Tyler Improves to 12-4
SISTERSVILLE — Caleigh Phillips recorded 21 points, 10 assists, seven kills and six aces as Tyler Consolidated downed Doddridge County 25-11, 25-10 and 25-14.
Landry Buchanan amassed 10 points and four digs for the 12-4 Silver Knights.
Caitlyn Northcraft turned in nine points and eight assists, while Braeden Wall supplied six kills, Tanley McEldowney and Hailey Sandy each garnered five points and Caitlyn Hayes added four kills in the victory.
Monroe zaps Zeps
WOODSFIELD — Monroe Central solidified its spot atop the OVAC Class 2A volleyball standings with a come-from-behind win over visiting Shenandoah Wednesday night. The Seminoles (9-4) won by scores of 19-25, 25-21, 28-26 and 25-23.
Haylyn Hiles recorded seven kills and four blocks, while Kynzi Bishop had seven kills, six points and a pair of blocks. Kalista Friday charted 10 points and 12 digs. Olivia Velkovich also had 10 points and chipped in 12 assists.
Bellaire Sweeps Bridgeport
BELLAIRE — The Big Reds won by scores of 25-13, 25-3 and 25-7.
Gracelyn Maupin had 13 aces, 14 assists and three digs. Allie Ault added 11 aces, four kills and five digs. Katelyn Hart and Quinn Boyle evenly divided half-a-dozen kills.
Morgantown downs Brooke
WELLSBURG — The No. 3 seed Morgantown girls soccer team scored on its first eight shots on goal against No. 2 seed Brooke as the Mohigans rolled to a 9-1 victory in an OVAC Class 5A tournament semifinal on a rainy Wednesday night on Paul “Bud” Billiard Field inside Brooke Memorial Stadium.
Chiara Ferrari delivered the lone goal for the Bruins off of an assist by Sophia Hannaoui.
