Park, Magnolia, Oak Glen Boys Heading to State Cross Country Meet

Central’s Aidan Scott takes home first place

DODDRIDGE — Wheeling Park’s boys’ cross country team advanced to state on Thursday with a second place finish at the regional race.

Leading the way for the Patriots was Jonah Nizami who place fifth with a time of 16:43.21. Teammate Brady Miller was ninth at 17:01.84.

John Marshall’s Mack Allen qualified for state in a time of 16:52.97 to place sixth.

University won the race with the top four finishers.

Class AA

The Oak Glen boys punched their ticket to state with a fourth and fifth place finish by Konnor Allison and Mason Konchar, respectively.

Hannah Kliner (10th) and Sophia Arner (11th) will be joining the boys at state after solid runs in the girls’ event.

Class A

CAIRO — Aidan Scott of Wheeling Central crossed the finish line first in a time of 16:52.50 to earn a spot in the state meet.

Teammate Patrick Childers also punched his ticket to state with an eighth place result.

Magnolia qualified as a team with a second place finish, paced by Landen Davis (7th) and Lucas Zombotti (10th).

Tyler’s Jaden Ebert (2nd) and Haygen Baker (3rd) were lightning on the course as they head to state, too.

In the girls’ event, Paden City’s Lexi Mathis (5th), Emily Ebert of Tyler (7th) and Hundred’s Rachel Snedden (8th) left their mark and will race at state.
