Gray Dominates as John Marshall Cruises Past Oak Glen

NEW CUMBERLAND — Roman Gray led the Monarchs to a 58-40 victory over Oak Glen Friday with a great performane, scoring 27 points with a pair of triples to go with nine rebounds and six assists. He was backed up by nine points from Cody Hartman and eight from Brennan Sobutka.

Jered Hissam led Oak Glen with 11 points on three 3-pointers, followed by Jontae Howard with 10.

Madonna 70, Valley 46

PINE GROVE — Despite a game-high 23 points from freshman Gavin Derby, Valley fell to visiting Madonna Friday, 70-46.

Matt Amaiseier and Santino Arlia led the Dons with 20 points each.

Arlia drained four 3-pointers as Amaiseier poured in a pair. Evan Bone chipped in 15 points of his own in the winning effort.

Derby swished four 3-pointers of his own and was helped out by Beau Wyatt and Brigg Anderson, who each scored seven points.

SISTERSVILLE — Caleb Strode paved the way for a Knights’ win, posting a double-double with a game-high 33 points and 16 rebounds. Strode made 14 total buckets, including three from range and was helped out by 12 points from Haygen Baker and 11 from Conner Bailey.

Barnesville 66

Monroe Central 54

BARNESVILLE — The Shamrocks remained hot Friday night, posting a 66-54 victory against then unbeaten Monroe Central.

The Shamrocks came out of the gates quickly, grabbing a 20-11 lead after one and really never looked back as they entered the fourth with a 15-point lead.

Once again, Barnesville was balanced in the scoring column with four players in double figures.

Senior Jeremy Hunkler pumped in 18, while classmate Colton Hines added 13. Kason Powell and sophomore Asa Geilinger each had 10.

The Seminoles were led by Tucker Howell, who posted 14 points. Colin Kroll added 13, while Jake Swisher and Malachi Rose-Burton went for 11 and 10, respectively.

Buckeye Local 80 Bridgeport 37

CONNORVILLE — Buckeye Local owned a 24-3 lead after one against Bridgpeort and cruised to its second win in four outings.

The Panthers were led by senior Hunter Darrah, who went for 16. Cameron Best added 15 and Gavyn Romanyak went for 13.

Bridgeport was paced by Alex Moore’s 10.

East Liverpool 56

Harrison Central 49

CADIZ — East Liverpool stayed perfect in the Buckeye 8 North by fending off homestanding Harrison Central Friday night.

The Potters were led by Trey Armstrong’s 16. Cole Dailey added 11.

Harrison Central was paced by Hayden Cassidy’s game-high 24. Jace Madzia added 14.

Gilmer County 76 Cameron 43

WILLIAMSTOWN — Gilmer Couty handed the Dragons their first loss of the seasonin the semifinals of the Donnie Fenton Shootout.

Malaysia Morgan led Gilmer with 32 points on 14 made shots. Ashlynn Van Tassell paced Cameron with 18 points, backed up by five points from Emilee Dobbs and four from Kenzie Clutter.

SISTERSVILLE — Caleigh Phillips poured in a game-high 25 points to lead the Silver Knights to victory Friday.

Tyler led 37-9 at halftime and cruised to an easy victory. Briann Templeton scored a dozen while Breaden Wall added in seven.
