Monroe Central Takes Care Of Business vs. Tigers
WOODSFIELD – The Monroe Central Seminoles claimed victory in their home opener Monday against the Shadyside Tigers, 57-39.
It was the first win of the young year for the Seminoles who move to 1-1. Shadyside falls to 0-2.
The Tigers’ Kaci Tsoras scored a game-high 23 points. Giovanna Hines scored 11 for Shadyside.
Monroe Central, playing without two starters, was led by Mayzie Emery who cashed in on a quartet of 3-pointers to get to 20 points. The junior had a team-high six assists and two steals.
Zoey McGarry scored 11 and Jadyn Miller had 10 for the ‘Noles.
Monroe Central next faces Waterford on Nov. 30 on the road.
