High School Roundup: Linsly Swim Tops The Field; Jets Beat Cambridge
WHEELING – Linsly splashed by Beaver Local and Indian Creek in both boys’ and girls high school swimming action Thursday inside the Stifel Field House.
Boys
The Cadets defeated the Beavers 107-59 and the Redskins 121-39. Indian Creek topped Beaver Local 93-64.
Sebastian Jayakumar captured the 100 Breaststroke and the 200 IM. Emilio Soto won the 200 Freestyle and the 500 Freestyle.
Girls
The Cadets won 92-68 over Indian Creek and 101-52 over Beaver Local. Indian Creek beat Beaver Local 93-64.
Jasmine Lourenco, Greta Temporin and Maral Batsanal were all double winners. Lourenco touched the wall first in the 50 Freestyle and 100 Butterfly. Temporin won the 100 Backstroke and 500 Freestyle and Batsanal finished first in the 100 Breaststroke and 100 Freestyle.
GIRLS BASKETBALL
Union Local 61, Cambridge 35
CAMBRIDGE – Leading 12-8 after one quarter, the visiting Jets (4-0) outscored the Bobcats 25-6 in the second quarter to lead, 37-14, at the half. They never looked back.
Laken Vinskovich tallied a team-best 20 points for Union Local. Delaney Butler added a dozen and Ella Pietranton finished with eight.
Faith Krise paced all scorers with 27 for Cambridge.

EAST LIVERPOOL – Maddie Sedgmer and Lauren Doane each scored 16 points as the Huskies (2-2) won on the road against the Beavers.
Kara Blackburn and Mikayla Pelegreen evenly divided a dozen markers.
