High School Roundup: Big Reds, Jets Each Get 10th Win Of Seasons

ST. CLAIRSVILLE – Bellaire held St. Clairsville scoreless in the second quarter Wednesday night in posting a 61-20 victory in girls basketball action on John Jenkins Court.

The Big Reds (10-1) led 28-10 after one quarter before extending the margin to 45-10 at the half.

Zara Harveth and Eliana Mason each scored 17 points for Bellaire. Aubree Hines added 10.

Harveth also snagged nine rebounds, handed out three assists and charted a trio of steals. Mason had four assists and Hines seven boards.

Anna Kain led the Red Devils with six points. Elizabeth Morgan had five and Claire Monteroso four.

MORRISTOWN – The Jets (10-2) kept pace with the Big Reds in the OVAC Class 3A race with their lop-sided win over the visiting Bobcats (2-8) inside ‘The Hangar.’

Laken Vinskovich worked the paint for 16 points while Ella Pietranton knocked down five triples and a free throw for 16, as well. Alli Kellway added eight and Teegan Day seven.

Jefferson County Christian 49, Plants and Pillars 33

WEIRTON – The Royals improved to 4-3, cruising to a double-digit win over the Plants and Pillars Mighty Oaks. The Royals jumped out to a 14-2 lead and never looked back.

The Royal were led by Lee Gump, who put up 11 points and eight boards. Mark Jenkins scored 10 points, and Wyatt Hervey finished with nine points, seven rebounds and six assists.

The Royals are home Thursday against Cornerstone Prep at the Millsop Center.
