High School Roundup: Bruins, Monarchs Battle To Split; Creek Sweeps Frontier, Big Reds

Brooke, John Marshall Split Pair

The Bruins outrolled the Monarchs 1,966 to 1,036 as Darian Hilton had a 445 series on games of 222 and 223. Seth Shroeder added a 191 game and 360 series.

Leading John Marshall were Wyatt Taylor and William Paxton with series of 258 and 239, respectively.

In girls action, the Monarchs prevailed 1,449 to 1,317 as Natalie Porter rolled a 153 game and a 274 series. Reagan Gorby added a 141 and 261.

Chastity Stevey had a 148 game and 257 series for the Bruins. Kaylee Tuttle finished with 143 and 281.

WRESTLING

Indian Creek Sweeps Two Duals

WINTERSVILLE – The Redskins blanked Frontier 72-0 and defeated Bellaire 59-17 in a triangular match.

Indian Creek’s Ian Starkey (150) was the only two-time winner in matches contested. He had a pair of pins.

The Redskins received seven forfeits from the Cougars and Big Reds in each dual.

Barnesville 60, Bellaire 48

BARNESVILLE – Ryker Willis led a trio of Shamrocks in double figures as they earned a measure of revenge against the visiting Big Reds. He finished with 15 points, one more than Braedon Willis. Casey Carpenter added 10 and Blake Burkhart nine.

Caleb Jewell led Bellaire with 21 points. Raekwon Pettigrew added eight.
