CONNORVILLE – Martins Ferry roared to a 29-4 lead after one quarter Monday night in girls’ basketball action en route to a 67-14 pasting of Buckeye Local.

Maddie Lucas led the Purple Riders with 16 points, one more than Giana Chirpas. SJ Koller and London Hodor evenly divided 16.

NEW MANCHESTER – The Maroon Knights made the trip to the northern tip of West Virginia worthwhile with a pounding of the host Golden Bears.

Seneca Heller scorched the nets for 21 points. She was joined in double digits by Erin Maxwell with 11 and Alexa Robrecht with 10. Bella Fitzsimmons had nine.

Monroe Central 51, Waterford 11

WATERFORD – The Seminoles continued their solid play with a 40-point win on the road over the host Wildcats.

Mayzie Emery paced Monroe Central with 14 points. Miley Bommer added 10 and Brylee McFrederick had eight.

Clay-Battelle 51, Valley 30

PINE GROVE — The CeeBees scored a road win Monday over the Lumberjills.

Ali Hellyer led Clay-Battelle with 19.

Laken Dawson scored 10 to pace Valley, while Michaela Miller scored seven.
