The Wheeling Park boys’ and girls’ tennis teams swept the Buccaneers of Buckhannon-Upshur with scores of 7-0 in recent action.

“I’m proud of how both our WP boys and girls’ teams have handled a very tough schedule to start the season,” Wheeling Park head coach Troy Salatino said. “The competition has been strong, but today’s wins over Buckhannon-Upshur were great results for both teams and a reflection of the hard work the players have been putting in.”

On the girls’ side, both Madeline Bradshaw (#1) and Samantha Piko (#2) remain undefeated in singles play. These two compete for the Patriots at #1 doubles as well, where they have not dropped a match.

Other girls in the WP starting line-up include Lauren Eskins, Marissa Hunley, Sadie Murphy, and Mollie Brammer. Emma Pattison and Lilly Smith round out the team.

Members of the boys’ starting line-up are Aaron Chao, Asher Chao, Brooks Wharry, Rex Montayne, Noah Lloyd, and Alex Zhao. Additional team members are Ryan Monroe and JD Williams.
