House Seat Retained By Romine

Republican William Roger Romine won re-election to his 6th District House of Delegates seat in Tuesday’s general election.

Romine garnered 4,755 votes — 74 percent of the total ballots cast — compared to Democrat Chris Combs’ 1,700 votes. Pending the outcome of Monday’s canvass, the results are unofficial.

The 6th District is comprised of parts of Tyler, Doddridge and Pleasants counties.

Romine, of West Union, a retired educator and school administrator, was first elected to the House in 2000. He is the vice chair of the Agriculture and Natural Resources Committee and serves on the Education, Energy, Interstate Cooperation and Senior Issues committees.
