Wheeling Grad Haywood Highsmith Inks With Heat

Wheeling Jesuit graduate Haywood Highsmith signed a three-year contract on Monday, as reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, with the Miami Heat.
The deal will include at least one team option.
Highsmith's second 10-day contract was set to expire, leaving the Heat with the choice of eaither releasing him, inking Highsmith to a two-way deal or offering him a standard contract.
During his 10-day deal with Miami, Highsmith has averaged 2.7 points and 1.6 rebounds, while shooting 34.8% from the floor and 40% from 3-point range
In his final campaign with Wheeling, Highsmith poured in 22 points per game and brought down 12.5 rebounds per contest, while leading the Cardinals to an MEC title and a birth in the Division II College Basketball Tournament.
After college, Highsmith signed with the Philadelphia 76ers.
