Schwertfegers Mark 70 Years

Russ and Jean Schwertfeger of Bethany will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary on Sunday, Nov. 22. The couple was wed at an evening ceremony in the Woodsdale neighborhood home of Jean’s mother, Corinne Gordon, of Wheeling. After a brief honeymoon trip to Pittsburgh they returned on Thanksgiving Day, just before the 1950 major snowstorm hit the Ohio Valley. Bringmans Celebrate 50

Dave and Barbara Bringman of Colerain celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Oct. 31. They were married Oct. 31, 1970 at the First Baptist Church in Arlington, Virginia, with Pastor Charles Standrich officiating. They are the parents of two daughters, Tracy Sue (Chad) Kiaski and Shelly Ann Bringman (Matt). They have four grandchildren, Isabelle, Olivia, Max and Hines. The Bringmans are both retired.

Straubs to Mark 70 Years

Ray and Delores Straub of Sardis, Ohio will be celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary on Thursday, Nov. 12. Ray is retired from Conalco and as an insurance agent with German Farmers Mutual. Delores is a homemaker. Ray still enjoys riding his mower and his farm. Delores likes to bake and work in the kitchen. They both enjoy their vegetable and flower gardens, love to play cards and to spend time with family. Family has always been the focus of Ray and Delores’s union. Pietrantons Mark 60 Years

Frank E. and Connie Musico Pietranton of Wheeling are celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary today at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, of which they have been members for 55 years. They were married on Oct. 8, 1960 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, Weirton by the late Rev. Peter J. Teigue. Connie graduated from Follansbee High School and Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing. She was a registered nurse for 30 years at Good Shepherd Nursing Home, Wheeling. Frank is retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield, where he worked for 35 years. Moores Celebrate 50 Years

Wheeling residents Paul and Christine Moore are celebrating 50 years of loving and sharing. They were married Sept. 19, 1970. They have raised three daughters and have five grandchildren.

Gordons Celebrate 50 Years

Jerry & Zetta Gordon of Wheeling are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary. They were married on September 19, 1970 at St. Joseph’s Cathedral in Wheeling with Fr. John Mueller officiating. Jerry is the son of the late Nicholas and Josephine Gordon. Zetta is the daughter of the late Arkle and Jessie Costanzo. Jerry is a retired purchasing agent from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. They are parents to one child, a daughter, Danielle (Joe) of Wheeling. The couple also has 2 grandchildren: Abigail and Justin Doerr. A private family dinner celebration is planned for Sept. 19.
