Vincent and Betty Lazear of Bellaire celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Friday. They were united in marriage on Aug. 18, 1962, at Meadow Grove Baptist Church in Dawson, W.Va. Betty Lazear is the daughter of the late Loren and Lovie Puckett of Dawson. She is retired from Marshall County Schools as a junior high school home economics and science teacher. Vincent Lazear is the son of the late Milton and Irene Lazear of Wheeling. He is a retired industrial arts teacher having taught in Ohio and Marshall counties for 38 years. Earl P. “Mickey” and Linda Fadul Duffy celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday. They were united in marriage on Aug. 19, 1967, at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, Wheeling, by the Rev. Carl Bauer. Both are retired and serve as volunteers at Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church in Wheeling. They are the parents of two children. The family includes Michael and his wife, Staci, and Allison and her fiance, Brent Totterdale. A small dinner will mark the occasion.

James and Dorothy (Jasko) Wright of Wheeling celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 29. They were united in marriage on July 29, 1967, by the Rev. Thomas E. Schiffer at St. Joseph Cathedral in Wheeling. James Wright is retired from the Wheeling Police Department and U.S. Attorney’s Office. Dorothy Wright is retired from the Stone & Thomas credit department. They are the parents of one son, Daniel, of Wheeling. A family dinner was held to commemorate the anniversary.

Tingler Celebrates 95th Birthday

Mary Tingler celebrated her 95th birthday on Monday. She was born July 31, 1922, in Blaine, the daughter the late Louis and Julia Nagy. She married the late Lawrence “Pete” Tingler on July 31, 1951. They were married for 50 years. She has two children: Larry (Deb) of Morristown and Mary (Troy) Amie of Colerain. Three grandchildren and nine great-granchildren complete the family. The occasion was celebrated with a family dinner at her home.
