Couple Celebrates 50th

Louis F. “Fred” and Constance S. Gross of Shadyside celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Dec. 30. They were united in marriage Dec. 30, 1966, by the Rev. Alfred MCleese at the former First Reformed Church of Christ in Bellaire. Constance Gross is the daughter of the late Leonard and Eleanor Cross. She is a 1965 graduate of Shadyside High School and retired from the Central Intelligence Agency in Langley, Va. Louis Gross is the son of the late Melvin and Mary Gross. Donnie and Kathleen McAndrews Layburn of Follansbee celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday. They were married on Dec. 29, 1966, while he was on leave from the U.S. Navy. He retired from Weirton Steel in 2002 and has been employed at Lyles Auto for 29 years. She worked at Wal-Mart in Weirton. They are the parents of three daughters: Tracy Layburn of Follansbee, Kelly Villaloboz of New Lexington, Ohio, and Cindy Mason of Follansbee. They have eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Thomas and Nancy White Lash of Wheeling will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Thursday. They were united in marriage Dec. 29, 1966 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Wheeling, with the Rev.
