Howard "Yip" and Mildred "Millie" Ernest Vance of Wheeling celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday, May 28.They were united in marriage on May 28, 1955 in Thompson United Methodist Church in Wheeling.They are the parents of five children. The family includes Chris (Georgia) Vance of Belmont; Craig (Jonda) of Newark, Ohio; Curt of Wheeling; Cary (Donna) of Valley Grove and Cara-Lyn (David) Janeczko of Wheeling. They have eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.A private celebration to mark the occasion took place on Saturday, May 23.

Allen E. Johnson officiating.Janet Cross is the daughter of James Staub and the late Arlene Staub.Wes Cross is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Clyde W.
