Lou and Shirley Zimmerman, formerly of Wheeling, now of Calabash, N.C., celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 1. They were married on July 1, 1972 at Vance Memorial Presbyterian Church by the Rev. G. Kenneth Gates. Shirley is the daughter of the late Donald C. and Florence Bixler Jefferys.
