George and Annette Smith of Steubenville announce the engagement of their daughter, Amber Nicole Smith, to Derek Allen Edwards, son of David and Patty Edwards of St. Clairsville.
Smith is a 2006 graduate of Steubenville Catholic Central High School, a 2010 graduate of West Liberty University with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a 2012 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville with a master’s degree in reading. She is a fifth-grade teacher at Warwood School in Wheeling.
Edwards is a 2008 graduate of Martins Ferry High School and a 2012 graduate of Mount Union University with a bachelor’s degree in history and education. He is working on a master’s degree in educational administration from Franciscan University of Steubenville. He is a history teacher at Martins Ferry High School, where he coaches basketball and football.
A July 3 wedding is planned at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Steuben-ville.
