Nancy Rice of St. Clairsville announces the engagement of her daughter, Marissa Skiba, to Andy Covington, son of Sharon and Donald Covington of Wheeling.
The bride-to-be received an associate degree of applied science in veterinary technology at the Vet Tech Institute at Bradford School in 2009 and an associate degree in applied science in respiratory care at West Virginia Northern Community College in 2015. She is employed as a registered veterinary technician at New Horizon Animal Hospital in St. Clairsville and a certified respiratory therapist at Ohio Valley Medical Center in Wheeling.
The groom-to-be is a paratrooper with the West Virginia Army National Guard and served in Afghanistan in 2009. He also graduated as valedictorian from the West Virginia State Police Academy in 2010 and serves as a deputy sheriff with the Ohio County Sheriff’s Office.
A small wedding is planned at the bride’s grandmother’s home on Oct. 5.
