Kayafas- Smith

Constantine “Gus” and Maria Kayafas have the pleasure to announce the engagement of their daughter, Angelena Marie Kayafas of Wilmington, N.C., to Luke Charles Smith of Wilmington, N.C.

The bride-to-be is the granddaughter of the late Milton and Angela Kayafas of Steubenville, and George Patitsas and the late Helene Patitsas of Columbus.

Luke is the son of John Smith of Shadyside, and Brian and Callie Schambach of St.Clairsville. Luke is the grandson of John Georgiafandis and Mary Jean Mahfood of Steubenville and the late Charles and Kathrine Smith of Shadyside.

The bride-to-be is a graduate of West Virginia University where she received a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. She is employed by Gathered Group, an Interior Design Company in Wilmington, N.C.

The prospective groom is a graduate of The Ohio State University where he received a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is currently completing a Masters of Business Administration and is employed by General Electric in Wilmington, N.C.

The two were engaged in Saint John, U.S. Virgin Islands on Aug. 2, 2020.

The wedding ceremony will be held at St. John the Divine Greek Orthodox Church of Wheeling on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021. Father Demetrios Tsikouris, Father Paul Patitsas, Father Phil Patitsas and Father Micheal Kallaur will preside over the wedding sacrament. The reception will follow in Pittsburgh.
