Roosevelt Offers Homemade Pasta and Other Italian Items

BELLAIRE — Spaghetti, gnocchi, cheese stuffed ravioli, rigatoni, meatball and sausage sandwiches, and tossed salads are just a few of the menu selections that have kept such a loyal customer base at the Roosevelt Restaurant in Bellaire for decades, according to owner Neal Zaccagnini.
Serving top-quality homemade pasta and other Italian menu items has been the hallmark of popular Italian eatery since 1933.
“Our menu is relatively simple. The majority of our product here is homemade, made fresh each day on premises … with quality ingredients. That’s what separates us from every other restaurant. I don’t know of too many places that actually do that anymore,” Zaccagnini said.
The Roosevelt offers old-school, authentic food in a modern world.
“What is unique about us is the fact that we make the product by hand here. The noodles are made here. The meatballs are made and rolled here. The raviolis are pinched together here … the sauce is made fresh everyday,” he added.
In addition, Zaccagnini said delicious Italian sausage sandwiches are offered every Wednesday and Saturday.
He said they also offer your favorite slice of pie, from Oliver’s Pies, which they order from the popular Wheeling bakery. They also have a list of beers and wines from which to choose.
Zaccagnini said the local customers have been extremely loyal over the decades and have helped make the business the success it has become today.
His father returned to the area and purchased the restaurant from the original owners in October of 1976 after serving 20 years in the U.S. Navy. He said he took over the operations of the restaurant for his father following his retirement in 2010.
