The House Of Friendship Celebrates National Puppy Day

Photos Provided Vivian, a Newfoundland puppy, meets a “stuffed” puppy belonging to Shirley Milton, a resident of Elmhurst.

WHEELING — Elmhurst, The House of Friendship nonprofit assisted living residence in Wheeling, celebrated National Puppy Day during the dog days of August with a visit from a friendly beagle named Dexter and his new sibling, a furry Newfoundland puppy named Vivian.

The front porch was filled with dog lovers who each got to greet, hug and get to know these two canines owned by assistant program director Melissa Mansuetto and her family.

Dexter visits Elmhurst residents throughout the year.
