Woman’s Club of Wheeling to Hold Membership Tea
WHEELING – The Woman’s Club of Wheeling will hold its annual Membership Tea at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18 at Monument Place, Kruger Street, Elm Grove. New members will be
initiated and honored at the tea, however it will be very different as the club plans to safely hold meetings and events by following the recommended guidelines.
Since the spring meetings were canceled, the memorial service and the installation of officers will take place after the tea.
Special guests will be GFWC-WV State President Helen Moren and GFWC-WV Northern
District President Lexie Hanket. State President Moren will install the officers for 2020-2022.
The Hospitality Committee has worked very hard to present an elegant event and keep
everyone as safe as possible. In past years, the tea table was buffet style, however this year,
food will be served in closed containers, pre-packaged condiments and disposable tableware.
Table seating will be spaced, gloves and masks will be worn by servers, single serving water
and hand sanitizer will be available. Everyone is asked to wear a mask, except when eating.
The committee will do its best to assure the safety of everyone in attendance and hope that
all feel comfortable and enjoy the tea.
The Annual Membership Tea is a long time Woman’s Club of Wheeling tradition, and must be continued, even In this difficult time.
The menu for the tea is half chicken salad and ham salad croissant, fruit cup, assorted
cookies and buckeyes, coffee, tea, water and favors.
