Historical Society Banquet Is Monday
MOUNDSVILLE — The public is invited to the Marshall County Historical Society’s Annual Banquet to be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, March 21, at Grand Vue Park’s Banquet Hall.
The guest speaker for this event is internationally recognized author Charles Todd, or more accurately the “son half” of the New York Times best-selling author duo. Caroline, the “mother half” of this celebrated writing team, is recently deceased.
Doors will open at 5:30 p.m., dinner will start at 6 p.m., and a book-signing will follow the presentation. Tickets are available for purchase, and Todd’s February 2022 novel, “A Game of Fear,” will be available for purchase at the event, as well.
The Charles Todd duo have more than 40 historical mystery novels to their name, including the popular Ian Rutledge series and Bess Crawford series.
Their stories are typically set in Great Britain during and after World War I and feature suspenseful plots, vivid descriptions and fascinating characters.
The rich historical content of these books make Charles Todd a very fitting choice for the Marshall County Historical Society’s speaker for their annual event. His appearance is co-sponsored by the Moundsville-Marshall County Public Library.
Both organizations are delighted to host a major author of such high caliber. Members, friends and the general public are encouraged to take advantage of this very special opportunity.
MCHS may be contacted at 304-845-1411, or tickets may be purchased at the Cockayne Homestead Visitors Center in Glen Dale.
