WHEELING — Miriam Chapter No. 1, Order of the Eastern Star, will be honored with the official Grand Visitation of Mary Lou Hyre, Worthy Grand Matron, and William Shockey, Worthy Grand Patron, of West Virginia at a special meeting at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, at the Shrine Center, Monument Place, Elm Grove, Wheeling.

Hyre, a resident of Rock Cave, W.Va., is a member of Aletha Chapter No. 82 in Rock Cave and Buckhannon Chapter No. 18 Order of the Eastern Star. She and her husband, Frank, are the parents of Mitchel, Anthony and Tina.

They have four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She and Shockey were installed at Grand Chapter in Charleston in October, and are visiting chapters all over the state.

Shockey, a resident of Kingwood, W.Va., is a member of Rowlesburg Chapter No. 127, Rowlesburg, W.Va. He and his wife, Cindi, are the parents of Josh, Amanda and Zack.

Miriam Chapter is the home chapter of Jim Shannon, Past Grand Patron, and Carolyn Nortemann, Grand Trustee of the Grand Chapter of West Virginia.

Carolyn Nortemann, Worthy Matron, and Jim Shannon, Worthy Patron, will preside at the meeting.

A dinner honoring Carolyn Nortemann will be held following the meeting.
