WHEELING — The Wheeling Symphony Auxiliary is hosting the “Snag a Bag” auction to raise funds to support the symphony on Friday, March 25. The event will be held from 6:30-9 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Cathedral, 83-14th St., Wheeling.

Forty-five new and gently used designer bags — featuring brands such as Vera Bradley, Michael Kors, Tory Burch, Kate Spade and Coach — will be auctioned in both live and silent auctions. In addition to new bags, the auction will feature bonus items, such as gift certificates to local businesses, jewelry, accessories or themed items. Attendees will also have a chance to bid on one-of-a-kind theme bags such as A Day at the Beach or Pool, Margarita Mania, Yoga to Go, Spa Day and many more.

Raffle tickets will also be sold for an opportunity to win a beautiful silver bangle bracelet and Tori Burch crossbody bag valued at $450. A door prize drawing will also be included, and the winner does not have to be present at the Snag a Bag event. WTRF will serve as the media sponsor, along with other generous donors.

Admission tickets can be purchased by calling, texting or emailing Nancy Haynes at 740-312-5229 or redecorateconsignment@gmail.com, from Symphony Auxiliary members or at the door. Included in the admission price are heavy hors d’oeuvres. A cash bar will also be offered.

(Editor’s Note: A story about this event that was published in last week’s edition of the Sunday News-Register included incorrect information about the date and location.)

Starting at $2.99/week.
