WHEELING — Opening of the 2022 Crosscurrents art exhibition at Oglebay Institute’s Stifel Fine Arts Center will take place Thursday, May 12.

A free reception begins at 6:30 p.m., and awards will be announced at approximately 7 p.m.

For those who cannot attend the awards ceremony in person, the event can be viewed live on the OI Facebook page.

Each year, dozens of artists vie for a chance to exhibit in this long-running annual show. A guest juror chooses the works for the exhibit, and cash prizes are awarded to winning artists.

Crosscurrents is on display through July 2. Regular gallery hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Admission is free.
