Scholarship Winner To Entertain Music Club

BETHLEHEM — The Thursday Music Club’s installation of officers luncheon meeting will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 12, at CharHouse on The Boulevard in Bethlehem.

Officers being installed are: President Suzanne McCormick, Vice President Lynn Welsh, Secretary Judy Szymialis and the treasurer, who will be named by the incoming president.

For those planning to attend, there is a fee, and reservations are required. Call Emily Mayer at 304-232-1714 by Monday, May 9, to make a reservation.

This is the last meeting for 2021-22. The 2022-23 year begins in September.

Chorus practice will start in October. If you are interested in singing in the Thursday Music Club Chorus, call Anita Chops at 304-551-1419 for more information.

The Thursday Music Club Study Group will start in October. For more information, call Judy Szymialis at 304-242-5423.

Madison Bolyard, the 2022 Gretchen McKee Scholarship Award winner, will entertain.

Bolyard, from Jane Lew, W.Va., is a junior pursuing the bachelor of arts degree in music education at West Liberty University. She studies voice with Dr. Linda Cowan.

During her time at West Liberty University, Bolyard has participated in many on-campus groups such as Alpha Chi, Kappa Delta Pi, WLU Singers and Choral Scholars. She has acquired status on the dean’s list each semester and is also a presidential scholar. Upon graduation, Bolyard intends to teach either choir or elementary music for a few years before continuing her studies at the graduate level.
